Position Overview

The best Digital Banking Specialist (DBS) is a proactive self‐starter who uses their resources wisely and sets their own direction. The DBS will be challenged with understanding, maintaining, and troubleshooting a large variety of the bank’s electronic banking products and services including online banking, mobile banking, electronic bill pay, debits cards, positive pay, Remote Deposit Capture (RDC), and ACH origination. A successful DBS has a proven record of providing exceptional and prompt service to internal and external clients via email, phone, and periodically in-person. They will work closely with the deposit sales teams to deliver digital banking support directly to clients and will have a direct relationship with clients for digital product implementations, onsite audits, and support.

A strong predictor of accomplishment for the DBS is the ability to support the bank’s deposit sales goals through the knowledge of the bank’s deposit products and services; and a solid understanding of how the bank’s digital services play a key role in overall deposit sales.  The DBS will be able to identify cross-selling opportunities and refer clients appropriately. This will help increase deposit sales and client retention, while improving the bank’s profitability. This is a fast-paced position that often requires the individual to re‐prioritize as the workload regularly fluctuates.

 Performance Objectives

  1. Job knowledge & Team player: Within 30 days, the DBS will have a base knowledge of the bank’s electronic banking products and services. They will have started to learn some of the deposit operations and fraud mitigation duties including initiating wire transfers, processing ACH and check returns, and payments anomaly detection.
  2. Direct Client Support: By the end of the first quarter the DBS will have a solid understanding of the bank’s digital services and systems. They will be applying that knowledge by working directly with clients on implementing and supporting online and mobile banking, mobile deposit, bill pay, P2P payments, online wire transfers, RDC, and ACH origination.
  3. Enhancements & Troubleshooting: At the 6-month mark, the DBS will be working directly with the bank’s core processor and other third-party vendors to help trouble-shoot digital issues and implement needed changes and enhancements. They will also have started longer term projects including client audits, risk rating, and procedure writing.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of two years of banking or payments experience and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (or related field); or equivalent experience. They should also have a working knowledge of computers and business software (Excel, Word).
